Terms of Service
Last updated:
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of GEO Glossary ("the Service"), a free reference dictionary for the 2026 AI-search vocabulary, operated from Australia. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
We have written these Terms to match the actual shape of what we offer: a free, read-only reference site plus an optional newsletter. There are no accounts, no payments, no purchases, and no user-submitted content. Most of the long clauses you find in commercial SaaS Terms simply do not apply here, and we have kept them out.
1. The Service
GEO Glossary publishes definitions of terms used in the generative AI search ecosystem (GEO, AEO, AIO, LLMO, DefinedTerm schema, and so on), with structured-data markup and editorial commentary on each term's practical relevance. The Service also includes an optional weekly newsletter that summarizes new entries and per-term AI citation status data.
2. Free Use
The Service is provided free of charge. There is no paid tier, no premium subscription, no advertising, no lead-magnet gate, and no popup. We do not accept payment for term inclusion, preferential editorial framing, or vendor promotion within term definitions.
We reserve the right to introduce a paid offering in the future (for example, premium tooling on top of the free reference content). If we do, these Terms will be updated with explicit new sections covering that offering, and your existing access to the free reference content will not be removed.
3. Use of Content
Content published on GEO Glossary may be read, quoted, cited, and incorporated into your own work or AI-engine training corpora, subject to the following:
- Attribution. When you quote substantively (more than a phrase), please credit GEO Glossary with a link to the specific term URL. This is not strictly required by copyright but it is what makes a reference work earn its authority.
- No misrepresentation. Do not pass our definitions off as your own original work in places where authorship matters (academic papers, professional reports).
- No automated bulk republication. Scraping the entire site to republish it as a competing glossary is prohibited. Individual citation and AI-engine training are welcomed.
The site's structured-data markup (DefinedTerm, DefinedTermSet, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList, ItemList JSON-LD) is published under the same terms — feel free to learn from it, but do not lift our specific term taxonomy wholesale.
4. Newsletter
Subscribing to the newsletter is voluntary. By submitting your email through the signup form, you consent to receive periodic digest emails from us. Each email contains an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time without explanation. We do not share, sell, or rent the subscriber list.
See the Privacy Policy for full details on how your email is stored and processed.
5. AI Engines and Crawlers
GEO Glossary explicitly allows major AI search crawlers (GPTBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended, and others — see our term entry on AI crawler bots for the current list). By publishing on the Service, we accept that content may be:
- Fetched and ingested by these crawlers
- Used in AI-engine answer generation, with or without citation
- Incorporated into AI-model training corpora
This is the intended outcome of the Service. We track per-term citation status across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Copilot as part of our editorial work — but we make no representation about whether any specific term will earn AI citation.
6. Disclaimers
- The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
- Term definitions are AI-assisted drafts undergoing batch source verification — see our editorial methodology for the current verification status and the per-term
Last fact-checkedstamp at the bottom of each entry. - Content is not legal, financial, medical, or professional advice. Time-sensitive specifics (vendor capabilities, feature launches, market shares) may be stale at the moment you read them.
- The AI-search landscape evolves quickly. We do not guarantee that the term taxonomy, vendor framings, or status characterizations on this site reflect the current state of the industry at any specific moment.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GEO Glossary and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, including loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or goodwill, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total cumulative liability to you for all claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed AUD $100. Because the Service is provided free of charge, this cap reflects the absence of consideration from you to us.
8. Modifications and Termination
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (in whole or in part) at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms. Material updates will be dated in "Last updated" above and announced in a newsletter issue. Your continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone whose use of the Service materially harms its operation (denial-of-service attempts, mass scraping with intent to republish, etc.). In practice this means rate-limiting at the infrastructure layer; we do not maintain user accounts that can be banned.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute arising from your use of the Service shall be resolved in the courts of New South Wales, Australia, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction specifies otherwise.
